Peculiar yet proven methods of dealing with low mood from a UK based Christian CBT Therapist.
Hata katika kundi; mtu anaweza kuwa peke yake. (Swahili)
Even amongst a crowd; one can still feel lonely.
Drawing from multi-layered experiences and expertise, the author examines some practical ways downhearted Christians can deal with depression and suffering. East London-born and raised Abigail Alli is a Registered Mental Health nurse and Qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist now based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. Abigail, who draws from her Christian faith, narrates the daily common mental health atrocities young and old British souls face and the common mental health anxieties present in current therapy sessions.
There are, however, scripturally underpinned methods that give these traumatic episodes biblical contexts; and, in return, are a delight to the burdened soul. In a world full of various forms of followings and friendships, the loneliness that often accompanies companionship is better addressed when we look beyond the hills (See Psalm 121.1).
