3 Pete by LT Wineland
Can one twelve-year-old boy change the course of Little League history, or will the weight of tradition and the taunts of rival teams keep the girls on the sidelines forever?
About the Book
3 Pete Grendel knows a thing or two about hitting home runs, but getting a girl on the Little League team might be his biggest challenge yet. He’s got his eye on the new girl in town, a pitcher with a fastball that blazes and a slow ball that floats, baffling every boy at the plate. But convincing her to join the Dirtballs? That’s a whole different ballgame.
The other boys on the team aren’t exactly lining up to share the dugout, and the new girl has her own terms: if she plays, the entire league must open its doors to girls. It’s a bold demand in a town steeped in tradition, and it sets Pete on a collision course with outdated rules and the ingrained beliefs of a community.
As the Dirtballs practice their dirty slides and perfect their pitches, a new threat emerges from the neighboring town—a team of bullies and misfits determined to dominate the diamond. To win the state championship, Pete and his teammates will need more than just skill; they’ll need to unite, proving that heart and teamwork can overcome any opponent.
