Ashes Through The Hourglass By Danny Lenihan

“Marvelously human, and funny as hell.” – RAY PORTER – Audie Award Winner, Project Hail Mary

What if the life you saved was the one you should have let go?

When Mason Winward’s sister is killed by a drunk driver who walks free, grief turns to rage and rage turns to obsession. He is seconds from committing murder when a stranger steps out of the darkness and pulls him back from the edge.

The man spends months rebuilding Mason’s shattered life. Then he vanishes, without a word, without a trace, without explanation.

Mason never forgets him. Determined to honour the legacy of the man who saved him, he dedicates his life to pulling others from the same darkness — and when his best friend invents a doorway into the past, he finally has the means to do it.

But the past is a dangerous place. And when one of Mason’s patients murders the man who killed his sister, Mason is forced to confront the most impossible case of his career — and the most personal.

And always, in the back of his mind, the question that has haunted him for three decades: what became of the man who once saved him?

Ashes Through the Hourglass is a darkly funny and heart-wrenching story about grief, memory, second chances, and the fragile magic of being human.
