Æthalyn, a cleric within the Order of Heraldic Healers, has just fled the twisted schemes of her brutish husband Prince Godwin. She leaves the congested walls of Fortune’s Fork, the southern capital, with only her faithful vigil Gable by her side. The pair travel north in an earnest attempt to find advice and refuge against growing dark plots, but a tragic response from Godwin forces them to join a group of unlikely allies. What’s more, Æthalyn’s clerical powers have mysteriously waned to the point of complete disappearance—testing her faith like never before.
