Matter of Destiny: The Black Flame Rising By AM Kain
A warrior born as a contingency, not destiny, becomes the key to stopping an ancient evil.
About the Book
A forgotten evil.
A legendary sword.
A warrior born for the final battle.
Trojak was never meant to be a hero. He was a contingency. Twenty-five years ago, his parents gave their lives to stop Danjin, an ancient enemy bound in black flame and hatred. Their sacrifice broke the path to the Sword of the Stars and bought the world a fragile peace. But peace was never victory.
Now the three moons are moving toward alignment once more. Forgotten ritual sites are awakening. Black fire burns where it should not. And Danjin has returned, searching for the power his enemies died to keep from him. Trojak wants answers, not destiny. He is a warrior with too much power, too little fear, and no desire to become the weapon others prepared him to be.
But when the truth of his birth is revealed, he learns his life was never an accident. It was the final plan left behind by those who failed. To stop Danjin and prevent the destruction of his world, Trojak must find the legendary Sword of the Elements before the Black Flame rises completely.
But brute strength will not be enough. Some weapons do not answer to power or skill alone. They answer only to the one willing to stand when fear finally catches him. In a race against time, ancient evil, and the weight of a legacy he never asked for, Trojak must decide whether he is ready to carry the burden of his heritage or watch the world fall to darkness.
