David M. Hamlin is the author of three Emily Winter mysteries as well as short fiction which has appeared in Mystery Weekly Magazine and Potato Soup Journal. He is also the author of two non-fiction books (The Nazi/Skokie Conflict, 1980; Los Angeles’s Original Farmers Market, 2009), countless editorial page commentaries, free-lance articles and a political satire column. Mr. Hamlin is a former ACLU executive and partner in a successful Los Angeles PR agency which specialized in social justice campaigns. He lives, writes and plays tennis in Palm Springs California; Mr. Hamlin’s wife, Sydney Weisman, is an accomplished journalist, publicist and cabaret performer.
Favor Bosworth, a reporter for the Baltimore Sun Paper, investigates murders in the Loch Raven reservoir and the Las Vegas wash feeding Lake Mead. The murdered girls went to Law School at UNLV along with Dan Brock who left school early to pursue a career in investing. Favor interviewed many of the girl’s classmates but only a few seemed to have the means, opportunity, and motive for murder.
Favor is also tasked to evaluate Brock Investments for reporting false investment returns. She is assisted by two Private Investigators, Flint Osborne and Lauren Scott. The investigators and the reporter are led around Big Bear Lake, and through Long Beach, and Orange County looking for evidence. Favor finds that, in the end, no one is who they appear to be.

Thomas A. Burns, Jr. is the author of the Natalie McMasters Mysteries. He was born and grew up in New Jersey, attended Xavier High School in Manhattan, earned B.S degrees in Zoology and Microbiology at Michigan State University and a M.S. in Microbiology at North Carolina State University. He currently resides in Wendell, North Carolina. As a kid, Tom started reading mysteries with the Hardy Boys, Ken Holt and Rick Brant, and graduated to the classic stories by authors such as A. Conan Doyle, Dorothy Sayers, John Dickson Carr, Erle Stanley Gardner and Rex Stout, to name just a few. Tom has written fiction as a hobby all of his life, starting with Man from U.N.C.L.E. stories in marble-backed copybooks in grade school. He built a career as technical, science and medical writer and editor for nearly thirty years in industry and government.
